I spent a few days in Noosa last week to take a break from fixing the house up after the Brisbane floods.

It was great to have some R&R time doing very little. However one of my favourite past times in Noosa is walking through the national park, and this time I was treated by meeting a very special park resident.

Here are some images:

I was walking in the Noosa National Park photographing surfers when this little guy appeared by the walking path.

He began scuttling down the path in front of me, hopping along like a rabbit at times.

He surprised this surfer.

And continued on down the path with these walkers. You never know who you might share the walking path with in the Noosa National Park.

He passed within centimetres of me and kept going, on the hunt for another gum tree.

Then passed another walker without batting a marsupial eyelid.

Finally after about 100m or so he scented a gum tree.

And ventured to safety and food off the path.

He was soon climbing up the tree.

And took one last glance at us before he got out of harm's way.

This is another koala I saw on a different occasion, at rest in the warm embrace of a tree branch. It's great to see there are still koalas in the park.
